Had a failure today with my SSD drive so I figured I might want to look into purchasing a new one and cloning it. Prices are crazy though, ranging from $89 to over $250 for a 128Gb drive.

Any thoughts on this guy?

After a certain period of time I'm getting the BSOD. If I reset it cannot find a boot device, if go into bios it does not recognize my SSD. If I power down and wait 30 seconds I can boot into windows just fine. After an hour or so it happens again.

ahh the blue screen of doom. if no virus, i could be wrong, but might be a damaged MBR. depending on make you might be able to find a repair tool.
or a really long option....reboot with the disc, repair install, and make new master boot record. but thats if its not physically damaged.

You can almost set your watch by it, after 1 hour the screen will semi-freeze. Mouse still works, acts like it's trying to do something, then blue screens.

Just updated SSD firmware, we'll see how that goes.

I've been looking into updating the mobo bios, but haven't had any luck. Hard to explain, but the current bios seems to be for newer versions of my motherboard. Mine was one of the first ones out and I have never bothered to update it. Plus, the update process is more complex than normal as certain files must be updated first, etc. I just get the feeling that the current bios is not for my motherboard.

Ran a chkdsk and updated the firmware of the SSD, seemed to do the trick. Thanks PF.
