Henk do you have a headset (has a mic and earphones)? or is it just a microphone? you might need to look at how your connections (at the back of your computer) are configured. Hope this helps. if not we're here to try to help out.

All your sound will have to come through either your speakers or your headset. I dont think theres a way to make SOF sound come through speakers, and TS come through your headset.

Not currently.  If you are registered then people will always know its you and not someone else using your name.  In the past it was required to be a registered user to enter certain channels, but that restriction has been removed.

probably, go to settings and instead of it being voice activation, set a key you want to use to be able to talk. Shift is probably recommended.

are you using a headset (headphones & microphone all in one) or headphones? does it work with other applications?

a USB headset would probably need to be plugged in before you start teamspeak, or any other application you use it for

if you're using a headset with two 3.5mm jacks, make sure you don't have them reversed

quick one that someone may have come across before. About a month ago the speakers on the laptop stopped working but sound on earphones was ok. Tried everything i could think off with no luck.  However turned on TS last nist, not in any server, and the speakers work fine. Tried it this morning and no sound until i turned TS back on. Any ideas?

Could be a software issue.  If it senses that the headphone jack is being used it turns off the speakers.  However, it could be a hardware issue where the jack itself is telling the motherboard that headphones are plugged in when in fact they are not.  You may have just stumbled on some random time it started working again.  If by turning on TS causes your speakers to start working *everytime* then I would say it's a software issue.  Uninstall the sound drivers and then reinstall.

cheers. I'll try the software re-install. Speakers only work when TS is on....everytime.

It's also very possible that the default playback device was accidentally changed to something other than your speakers. Especially if the laptop has a hdmi output. As hdmi also can carry sound out, and is often called s/pdif or digital out. Right click on your speaker/ volume control. Then select playback devices. That might lead you to an answer.

Ptrain is right... it could be your default playback device...

In TS, you can go to settings and find Playback along the left side. You can select your device that way or select to system default (I think that's how it is... not looking right now). You can do the same thing for mic via recording device or capture, or input... however it's listed. All mean the same thing basically. Hope it helps.
