or more specific CS-global offensive. (under 12 pounds on steam UK)
I must have been living on the moon, or Scotland to have missed this game. its MASSIVE. launched almost 2 years ago this is the second most played game on steam, at one point today over 93000 players online at the same time. to put that in perspective, the best ranking cod game was under 11000 at its peak. even the older cs-source still get above 27000 at its peak daily, out since 2004. not to mention the first cs from 2000 had at its peak over 40000 players online at one point today MASSIVE the game? looks like sh*t and feels very dated against the new cod and bf. However, the best way to describe it would be that it plays like SOF2 but with more modern game types. This is a pc game, built for the pc, loved and cared for by pc users and pampers to the needs of pc users and not to consoles. the community and in game has all the feelings of sof2, probably because its roots are the same except it grew and maintained over the years. despite the fact I went and bought a top end PC a couple of months ago and manage to play ghosts and bf4 in top settings I really love the bit that says this game is about gameplay and not shafting the user to upgrade pc parts to keep up with annual new releases. no shafting involved. even quite old machines will play this game with ease. PC System Requirements OS: Windows® 7/Vista/XP Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 processor or better Memory: 1GB XP / 2GB Vista Hard Disk Space: At least 7.6GB of Space Video Card: Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0 that's all that's needed to play with over 90k of players at anyone time. or just over 10k of players on ghosts yet for the privilege you need a minimum of (and that's minimum!!!! although i believe ram has bas been reduced during a patch) ............ OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better RAM: 6 GB RAM HDD : 40 GB HD space Video: NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTS 450 / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 or better Sound: DirectX® compatible sound card DirectX®: DirectX® 11 (for a code engine that has not changed for YEARS you still need to upgrade every year - its a disgrace. not a cod hater, i enjoy cod, but they are a cash cow) we lost great guys from the pc world like bounty and slayer, yet this game is perfect for them and no need to worry too much about having the best pc. the worlds best game? no the worlds best graphics? no the worlds best fps? up for debate the best fps to cater for all pc users on any budget with the biggest community that looks after the pc guys - yes that's my words of wisdom for tonight cheers Stephen |

Well for years we've been looking for a game that grabs us as much as SOF did, TF2 looked to be it for a time, some went for Battlefield others to COD.
I think it was more than simple game-play and low-end gfx that drew us to SOF though, it was the community of players. We had an identity as OBCers as did GAF, Izzles and all the rest and thats not something that can be easily replicated. That said it'd be great to see the guys throw on the old OBC tags and hop on and play together again and if this game is all the things Stephen says I'd give it a try. |

as games go, its cheap so where is the risk lol
day 2 and love it even more. sof2 meets TF2. ,the maps I have played most reminds me of some of the modded maps like castle vs town spirit of other players in your team during a game is much like sof or tf and not like the individual game play of cod. all about the team work |

(last post before I end up spamming)
just found this out.................. hundreds of custom maps for FREE download instead of paying 15 quid to cod or bf for just 4 at a time. how pc gaming used to be that's a deal breaker right there |

I'm going to look into it at the least. If we can find a good place to play, make sure to mention it :)

hollow words but...............
not played a game this year I think, decided to give it a bash tonight. Played one game of cod ghosts and was board (not to mention only 2376 players on line) wont even bother running bf4 jumped onto CS and over 80.000 online and had great fun I know I don't game much these days, but if you do still enjoy FPS on the pc then there is only one game CS-GO, sof4 with modern game modes |
