I haven't had a chance to go through everything, but I was able to transfer the whole docs folder for that username, and everything looks good so far, filenames & everything intact

i use getdataback frequently. usually if you do not get results like 'my documents' its because of bad sectors. in that case you would use the 'extensive search' feature or just repair the sectors with HDD Regenerator found on Hiren's. there are a few more secrets but id have to kill you...

I had a error on the HDD ones because of a linux partition and the HDD recovery it had to delete all the files from the partition to recover it, im not sure if it was the same software but anyways, the data will be lost after the repair right?

I've since restored that hard drive to it's original state from the manufacturer, and everything is working fine, although it's windows vista...got windows 7 on another hard drive, but still working on getting all the drivers installed...sony has to make things difficult
