I don't see the hypocrisy here, he's talking about circumstances that existed in 1994, and the reason we were there at that time was to protect kuwait...circumstances were different when we did invade iraq, whether you agree with the reasoning or not

I believe the circumstances were exactly the same. The only thing that had changed was the administration in power.

how do you figure? first time around, we went there because iraq invaded kuwait, we went to defend kuwait, and stopped once saddam insane learned his friggin lesson & retreated...this time around we invaded iraq over their development of weapons of mass destruction...so the only way they're exactly the same is if you buy into that "we're over there to steal their oil" crapaganda, cuz if we were, I'd be paying $1.21/gal, not $3.21/gal

and have you ever stopped and asked yourself why, if there was no development of weapons of mass destruction, did iraq just not give the UN weapons inspectors unfettered access?

how bout we reverse the flow of crapaganda? http://www.jeremiahproject.com/prophecy/clintbodycnt.html

"we're over there to steal their oil"

Were over there to slow down flow of oil from there and make the u.s companys more $ and/or competitive..Bush/cheney have to pay back the people who put them there.

if there was no development of weapons of mass destruction, did iraq just not give the UN weapons inspectors unfettered access?

Would you give your enemy free access to your house?

McCain or Obama. That is the question.

Of course, if they already rolled up on my doorstep once before, only an idiot would believe it would/couldnt happen again. Guess sadamm never learned that old saying 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'

the UN is iraq's enemy?

here's some more interesting reading...I know it's not really up to date, can't tell how g.w. bush fits in, but interesting nonetheless, especially this part

The reason why we did not invade Iraq in 1994 was Cheney did not own all his Haliburton stock yet.  Once he worked at Haliburton and positioned himself and his cronies so they could make a fortune out of the war, he and Bush proceeded to sacrifice 3,700 Americans to make themselves incredibly rich.

Actually, I am willing to leave the decision to go to war to history, though I suspect you can guess my opinion.  What I will never forgive Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, and Wolfowicz for is the way they conducted the war.  Contrary to their crapaganda (I love that word!) they fired every general that advised against their ideology.  The report by General Petraeus due in September is even being written by the White House.  Everything this Administration says about this war is pure lies.  I think all 4 should appear before the Haige and stand trial for war crimes.  The blood of 3,700 Americans and untold thousands of Iraqis are on their hands and the world is a more dangerous place because of their war.

My argument doesn't even get into being there for oil.

The point here are lies upon lies which got us into Iraq as the Bush admin stopped talking about Bin Laden all together.

Even if it was over oil do you think they would sell it to you cheaper?

Pulling out the Clinton card can be tied to the current admin only by the fact they told Bush upon entering office how dangerous Al-Qaeda was. They told him it was the #1 threat to the US.

With all the evidence out there, if you chose to believe they really didn't know anything and that Iraq had something to do with it, then I believe you chose to see your own reality.

I chose to believe they allowed the attacks to happen, just as Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen, to rally support for a war. Only this time there was no Hitler.

Why didn't you post Al Gore, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry comments during mid and late 90's? If i recall they were bashing Bush senior on not finishing the job in 91.
