Was at 4297 when I signed, so at approx $45 a time they should be fairly confident of recouping at least $200,000. At this stage I would think it would start to make commercial sense. I'm a bit bored of war and monster scenarios.

Hmm, not really. Obviously $200k wouldn't even cover the game engine fees, let alone do any work towards making such a game. If they really thought they'd only recoupe $200k, or even $500k, they wouldn't even bother. (Because it doesn't come anywhere close to covering the costs.)

But they will be looking at this petition and using it to project an estimated level of interest. I'd say 5000 signatures is a pretty good expression of interest for quite an old game.

I would love to see SOF3. The single player version of SOF2 was really very good indeed. Played it to the end on hard setting twice. Far better than other similar games that followed it.
